William Parker: solo bass, compositions
Testimony was master William Parker’s first album of solo bass. It was originally released on CD in 1995 and quickly sold out. It was made available on CD again in 2011, as part of the ltd. edition 3-CD box set, Crumbling In the Shadows Is Fraulein Miller's Stale Cake. That edition quickly sold out as well.
We are very excited to once again present this tremendous work in full-resolution majesty via download at Bandcamp.
Live action paintings by musicWitness®, Jeff Schlanger, were created at the session. Although recorded at the Alterknit Theatre, Knitting Factory, this was an afternoon recording session in the space, rather than a live concert. The entire series of five paintings witnessed / created that day are all beautifully reproduced in the PDF booklet included with the digital album.
