[JMP-01] - CD in 6-panel digipak

NYC resident William Parker and poet/playwright/author David Budbill, who spent the last 50 years of his life in the rural hills of Northern Vermont, had a very close creative relationship & friendship. They worked together on the CDs Zen Mountains Zen Streets & Songs for a Suffering World, and the DVD project On Being Native, among many other live performances.

This CD, What I Saw This Morning, presents their final work (on record) together, and presents 31 of David's poems as spoken word accompanied by William on bass, kemele ngoni, hochiku, shakuhachi, and duduk. An Interview between the two of them in four parts is interspersed as well.

It is a moving meditation on life, mindful passage through, and the inevitability of death; and is testament  to the synergy between these two artist citizens from very different backgrounds.

This is a limited private press edition, and features cover artwork by the author's wife, Lois Eby, and liner notes by their daughter, Nadine Wolf Budbill.
